Wow! Has it really been two months?......

I cannot believe that much time has gone by without my having posted even once! I would have thought that to be a virtual impossibility! LOL

LOTS has gone on in the last couple of months, so let me take the time to bring you all up to speed. (Warning: Long Post!) So get a cup o' joe, make yourself comfy and...we're off!

1: My parent's anniversary party was a huge success! They were absolutely surprised and overjoyed. Even my brother and his family came, which really made it all the sweeter because we hardly ever get to see them. This is a picture of them when they were newly married in the 60's. Aren't they cute? hehehe

2: Thanksgiving was great, less work than I thought and we enjoyed the time with family. It was our first time to put our turky in the Nuwave Oven, and I have to say it was DELICIOUS! If you don't know what this is...google it! It will be worth your while! You can put a whole frozen chicken in there and in about an hour, presto! the yummiest, moistest baked chicken you have ever laid your lips on!

3: The Car Saga: Well, seems like Hubby knew what he was doin' when we passed on that other car. We have a friend that has a car lot and he got us a really good deal on a 2008 Toyota Sienna minivan. It is fabulous! I LOVE THIS CAR! Especially that the two boys now sit WAAAYYY in the back! hehehe It is such a blessing and I am so thankful to God for providing it and for giving us friends that care enough to help us out.

4: I ended up with Bronchitis AGAIN!!!! I am just getting over it. Funny story....I started taking this Tylenol Multi Symptom Cold medicine, which is wonderful. Stops the cough really well. I had been taking the Day formula and decided to try the Nightime formula. So last night I took it at about 9PM.....I woke up at about 5PM THE NEXT DAY!!!! I kid you not! It knocked me OUT for like 20 hours! I would have slept longer exept Hubby peeled me out of the bed and put me in the shower. I know he tried to wake me up several times, but I literally could not keep my eyes open. Note to self: No meds with Doxylamine Succinate for you! I looked up this "antihistamine" and found out that it has a "profound" sedative effect (no kidding!) and that some studies show it sedates better than phenobarbitol (a barbiturate). Me being the "extra-strength Tylenol kinda gal that I am (I cannot do prescription pain killers AT ALL!) no wonder it knocked me for a loop!

5: The weekend of Thanksgiving our kitty, Leo, got out of the house and has not come home...**sniff** I would like to think that he is living it up at someone elses house and that he is happy. I was so heart broken that Hubby let me get a new kitty. I looked all over for another Bengal kitty that needed a home and found just the guy at a breeder in Corpus Christi, Texas. His name is Jag, short for "Baby Jaguar", and he is just under 2 years old. He had been an expensive cat that was dumped back at the breeder because the owners were moving. We got him for a small adoption fee and he has fit right in to our family. He is like Leo in some ways, and very different in others. He has all his claws, which has not been the problem I thought it would be, and he actually does not shed....at all! So, we will keep an eye our for our Leo, and if he comes home he will have a friend to play with.

Well, that is as much as I have time for today! Sorry to be so absent, and I will post some craft doings very soon!
I am on the DT for CopicJunkies now and would love for you all to join us for our weekly challenges as we learn to use and enjoy our favorite addiction! Copic Markers! There is also a blog that we are getting started for this group. See the links below to join in!

Now, for all you cat lovers, here is what the kitty version of a diary would say...
* Excerpts from a Cat's Diary *

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Imbeciles! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has got to be an informant.I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now............

Can you just SEE this? I practically fell off my chair laughing at this, it is SOOO cat-like!

And now, drum roll please....Here is my kitty, Leonardo Di Catrio (that name was NOT my idea!)

He is a Bengal cat, which is a cross between a domestic cat and an Asian Leopard Cat. They say their temperament is more like a dog-in-a-cat-suit, and I would have to agree...How many cats come when you call them? He has a gorgeous, glittery spotted coat and big amber eyes. He is such a big baby...
He likes to have his sides patted (like a dog) and he will lay down like this and roll around and paw at the ground while you are doing it.Here he is modeling the very latest in kitty hair accessories ! LOL My DD put her clip in hair extension on him and I just had to take a picture. Here he gives a nice profile! He is such a sweetie, he sleeps with me at night, most of the time either on me or as close to me as he can get, and he is very vocal, very inquisitive and very playful. He can jump several feet off the ground, it is kind of amazing to watch him do it because he is a large cat, weighing 17 pounds.Well, I have been so crazy busy I have not had a chance to do any card making, but I hope to remedy that very soon.
Blessings,
Shannon
