This Sunday past my DH asked me to teach the lesson in the sunday school class that we co-lead. He was behind on school (doctorate program) and really needed to catch up. I thought long and hard and really felt God leading me to look at the event immediately after the resurrection. Being that we just celebrated Easter, I figured it would be a good place to start. In browsing the book of Luke, I came across where Thomas, having been told that Christ had risen, said, "Whatever! Not till I feel those holes myself, will I even CONSIDER the possibility!" Ok, that was a paraphrase, but you get my drift! LOL Then, lo and behold, Christ himself appears and tells him,"Feel my hands, it really is me." AWKWARD......He must have felt like a jerk, especially when Jesus goes on to bless those who believed WITHOUT seeing. Most people think He meant the other disciples, but hang on...back up a few verses and you will see that most of the other disciples did not believe it at first either! Even when they SAW Him! So, just who is it that Christ is blessing? I think that He was referring to us...the Body of Christ, who believe without seeing, accepting on faith that Christ did indeed come to earth, live, die, rise to life and ascend to Heaven. Even so, it is still hard to always be the Giant of Faith that I long to be. For the mean time, my prayer will continue to be..." Lord, I believe...help my unbelief!"
Blessings!
Shannon

thank you for those wonderful words, Shannon. God bless you. Hugs.
And I forgot to say that I hope you come and see my blog some time:)
Oh to believe and not to see...you mean faith like a child. Glad to hear that your lesson went well. I was trapped in a car for 9 hours trying to get home from the beach. We had numerous delays.
P.S. Where do you get all you copic markers. I'm thinking about trying a few.
P.S.S. I'll be posting a spoofy crafting video on my blog tomorrow featuring me and my sister.

Shannon,
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I love making new friends.
What you wrote about Thomas is SO powerful. I too have moments where I really want to have faith to believe in what I am asking of God but find it hard. It is only by going to His Word and being reminded by stories like this that I can dig deep down and pull that faith out!! Thank you for blessing me today.
